The Chestnut Hill Film Group will show the erotic Japanese masterpiece "Woman in the Dunes" tonight at 7:30 pm,  at the Chestnut Hill Library, 8711 Germantown Ave.

The 1964 film, which earned the filmmaker Hiroshi Teshigahara a Best Director Oscar nomination, is a tale of an amateur entomologist whose sea-side quest for insects traps him in a village where he is sent to live with a woman who is in a constant battle to prevent her home from being swallowed by dunes.

As always, admission is free. Cookies and coffee will be served.

The next film in the series will be the 1934 John Barrymore film, “Twentieth Century.” It will be shown on Tuesday, March 1.
