'Twentieth Century' tonight for Chestnut Hill film series

The Chestnut Hill Film Series continues tonight Tuesday, March 1 with “Twentieth Century” a 1934 Howard Hawks comedy starring the late, great Philadelphia native, John Barrymore. Barrymore plays an eccentric Broadway director who tries to get a former protégé turned famous Hollywood Actress, played by Carole Lombard, to return and help revive his career. The Film will begin at the Chestnut Hill Library, 8711 Germantown Ave., at 7:30 p.m. As always, admission is free and coffee and cookies are available. March screenings of the Film Series are as follows: “Big Brown Eyes” on March 8, “Canterville Ghost” on March 15, “A Delicate Balance” on March 22, and “It’s Always Fair Weather” on March 29.
