Two gunmen reportedly made off with $600 in cash after robbing the Chestnut HIll Post office, 8227 Germantown Ave. The robbery occurred just after 2 p.m. in the afternoon. Police said they are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the two suspects. (Video report from WPVI, ABC) According to police the two men fled the scene in a white car. Authorities told ABC news affiliate WPVI that tthe post office did have several cameras and that the footage is being reviewed. The descriptions by police are as follows: One black male, between 6'3 to 6'5 tall, with a medium to dark complexion, thin, but athletic build with a goatee, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark grey pants, and a navy blue turtleneck over his mouth. A second black male, 5'8 to 5'10 tall, with a medium to dark complexion, bald, and a stocky build, wearing a sleeveless puffy blue vest and a similar navy colored turtle neck over his mouth. U.S. Postal Inspector Reginald Wade told WPVI that the crime, because it is a federal offense is particularly foolish. "They're looking for money, they're looking for stamps; I can't tell you exactly what they're looking for, but it's stupid. There's nothing worth spending time in federal prison," he told WPVI.
