The following crimes are from the week of June 26 to July 2, 2011.
June 26. 100 block W. Chestnut Hill Avenue. Between 2 p.m. and 5:20 p.m., an unknown person cut screen to side door and pried open a window to gain entry to porch and then home. Owner was out of town and it is unknown at this time what was taken. Reported at 2 p.m.
June 27. 8800 block Germantown Avenue. Between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., an unknown person stole a purse from behind nurse’s station. Taken were keys and nursing equipment.
June 27. Unit block E. Bells Mill Road. An unknown person broke the driver’s side window of vehicle and stole credit cards, passport, camera, keys and money.
June 28. Germantown and Northwestern avenues. Complainant states that her son left his blue drawstring bag at this spot and when he returned bag was gone. Reported at 10:15 a.m.
June 30. 100 block W. Hillcrest Avenue. Police responded to burglar alarm and found a small bathroom window open and screen lying on ground. Window was broken. Police entered house through front door, which was unlocked. Owner was contacted by phone and arrived at property a short time later. Owner said that it appears that nothing had been taken. Seen fleeing property towards Germantown Avenue was a black male, 6 feet tall, medium build, dark complexion, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
July 1. 9000 Crefeld Street. Complainant states that he left garage door open from 9 a.m. on June 30 to 8 a.m. on July 1 and someone took two bicycles – one blue bicycle and one gray bicycle.
July 1. 7900 block Stenton Avenue. Complainant states that an unknown person smashed passenger side front window of a 2007 silver Nissan Murano and stole a Tom Tom global positioning system. Reported at 7 p.m.
Summary — Seven crimes for week: two burglaries, three thefts and two thefts from vehicles.
