Sept. 5. 8000 block of Cherokee Street. An unknown person broke the drivers’ side handle, door and window to a parked car and took $75 in cash, various credit cards, a check for $1,050, house keys and wallets between 4:30 and 5:15 p.m.
Sept. 7. 200 block of E. Mermaid Lane. An unknown person attempted to gain entry to an apartment through a window, damaging the screen. The resident also reported that damage to a wood ring on the gate door to the back yard, between July 3 and Sept. 3.
Sept. 8. 200 block of E. Willow Grove Avenue. An unknown person gained entry to a parked vehicle through an unlocked door and took a gray Dell laptop, a black laptop bag and a blood pressure monitor, total value $1,080. This was reported at 8:30 a.m.
Sept. 9. 200 block of E. Mermaid Lane. A resident complained that after a subcontractor left their house on Sept. 8 a checkbook and $100 in cash was missing.
Summary — Four crimes for week: two theft from vehicles, one attempted burglary and one burglary.
