Suspect sought in attempted robbery of Sovereign Bank

Philadelphia Police and the FBI are looking for a man who failed to rob the Chestnut Hill Branch of Sovereign Bank on Tuesday morning.  According to the FBI, the  man handed a demand letter to a teller at 10:10 a.m. He then fled without getting any cash. The FBI believes the man is the same man responsible for a robbery of National Penn Bank, 9 W. Evergreen Ave., on January 6. From a release from the FBI: Subject is described as a black male, 30 years old, 5’7” tall, with a slim build, dark complexion, goatee and moustache, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark sunglasses, and black gloves.
Pictures from the bank’s security cameras are below. This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police or the FBI at (215) 418-4000. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture and tipsters may remain anonymous.
