The Philadelphia School District announced yesterday they would be closing schools early on Monday, June 11 due to excessive heat. Below is the statement issued by the district:
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90's tomorrow in Philadelphia. The District is taking this heat warning seriously by closing schools, which includes early childhood programs, at 12 p.m. tomorrow, Monday June 11, 2012. At the 12 p.m. dismissal time, routine transportation will occur for students.
All afterschool and programs will also be cancelled. Staff will remain in the building until all students have left or have been picked up.
