C. Christina Warfield, 75, of Mt. Airy, advertising director for Germantown Newspapers, died July 21 from ovarian cancer at Hahnemann Hospital.

Germantown Newspapers,which publishes the Germantown Chronicle and the Northwest Independent, is owned by Ms. Warfield’s husband, Jim Foster, a former board member of the Chestnut Hill Community Association.

A former legal secretary, Ms. Warfield had worked as a proofreader and advertising sales representative at the Germantown Courier and the Mt. Airy Express – the two newspapers that preceded her husband’s papers.

Earlier she was an office manager for Videojet, a manufacturer of bar code equipment in Mt. Laurel, N.J.

Born Cora Christina Blackley in Newtown Square, she was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at St. Joseph’s University by taking night classes while working during the day.

Her first marriage to Harry Warfield ended in divorce. She and Foster were married in 1982.

In addition to her husband of 30 years, Ms Warfield is survived by a sister.

A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at the Kirk & Nice Funeral Home, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. – WF C. Christina Warfield, advertising director
