Ten Springside Chestnut Hill Academy seniors have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) for their high performances on the 2011 national PSAT exams.

Three students were designated as Semifinalists and five as Commended in the National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP), while two students were recognized by the NMSC programs honoring academically outstanding black and Latino students.

The three NMSP semifinalists, among the top 1 percent of testers nationwide, have the opportunity to advance to the finalist level and consideration for $32 million in scholarship funds that will be distributed next spring.
