What does your generosity mean to our community? - From your friends at Keystone Hospice

With the Chestnut Hill Fund Drive in full swing, we checked in with past grantees about how the generosity of the community has helped them. Keystone Hospice received a $5,000 grant to support hospice costs for terminally ill Chestnut Hill residents.

The staff of KeystoneCare Home Health and Hospice and its grateful patients and families want you to know how grateful we are for the support from the Chestnut Hill Community Fund over the years, especially this past year.

KeystoneCare, a nonprofit provider of homecare and hospice services, has, since our very beginning, embraced patients that other providers simply turn away. We are proud of our commitment to meet the needs of both those who choose us, and those who have nowhere else to turn. Our patients come to us from all walks of life with diagnoses as varied as their backgrounds, and all age groups, including children. They come to us with all levels of need and we serve them in their homes and in our home, Keystone House. However they encounter us, we keep welcoming them, and we do so with a sense of "knowing" that we are embraced by our community.

As we love, respect and care for these patients and create the best possible environment for them, we now find ourselves in a world struggling with a difficult financial climate, severe budget cuts, and complicated healthcare insurance and reimbursement models. Yet despite many challenges, we continue to serve those in greatest need, to alleviate suffering and promote quality of living, with dignity and respect.

Our year has been full of many magical moments and milestones, and our patients have been granted many wishes. Our wonderful staff, together with generous supporters like you, make all this happen. At KeystoneCare, we plan to keep offering the highest level of care to our patients, but we cannot do it without your support. "We are, each of us, angels with only one wing; and we can only fly by embracing one another," said Luciano de Crescenzo. With gratitude, we thank you for embracing us and those we serve.
