William Edwin “Bill” Shepherd, 79, formerly of Chestnut Hill, a business owner who had founded several firms, both here and in Canada, died Jan. 8 at Sault Area Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada.
While living in this area, Mr. Shepherd founded Grove Storage and Elder Flower Adult Daycare, both in Chestnut Hill. He also established Broad Street Storage in Sault Ste. Marie.
Earlier, he had worked for many years in the steel industry.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters Suzanne and Tracey; a brother, Charles Shepherd; a sister, Mary Ellen Brouillard, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 13. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, c/o the Arthur Funeral Home, 492 Wellington St., Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Canada.
