New York Times Bestseller Mary Louise Quinlan gave the 86th Commencement speech at Chestnut Hill College on May 11, 2013. 

Mary Louise Quinlan, M.B.A., New York Times bestselling author of “The God Box: Sharing My Mother’s Gift of Faith, Love, and Letting Go” (Greenleaf Books, 2012) delivered the 86th Commencement address on Saturday, May 11th at an outdoor ceremony on the College's campus. Quinlan, who has built a national reputation as an author, advertising executive, and speaker, acknowledged the hard work of the graduates and provided advice and direction for the Class of 2013 moving forward.

The College awarded 404 bachelor degrees, 221 graduate degrees as well as 19 doctoral degrees in clinical psychology during the ceremony. Honorary Doctor of Laws degrees will be awarded to Winifred Antoinette Taylor Ford, M.B.A., M.S.,’63 for her extraordinary career and lifetime commitment of service to the community, D. Sue Horrigan Ozar, M.A., M.Ed., ’63 and Francis “Bud” Ozar, S.T.L., for their work as missionaries and founders of Friends of Kenyan Orphans, and Mary Louise Quinlan, M.B.A., for her inspiring work as an author and speaker.
