Crime Report: Six thefts

The following crimes are from the week of August 25 to August 31, 2013.

Aug. 26. 7900 block Germantown Avenue. Complainant states that while shopping in food store an unknown person stole a book bag containing a wallet, house keys, shoes and work-related equipment.

Aug. 27. 8700 block Germantown Avenue. Complainant states that an unknown person stole three bottles of Absolut Vodka and fled through parking lot towards Germantown Ave. Occurred at 3:45 p.m.

Aug. 27. 8700 block Germantown Avenue. Complainant states she saw a black male place a bottle under his shirt and walk out of store. Male was stopped by police in parking lot. When asked by police if he took bottle, he answered yes. Taken was a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka. Arrested was a male, 50 years old, residing in the 7100 block of Boyer Street.

Aug. 28. Unit block Bells Mill Road. Complainant states that an unknown person forced open passenger side door of his 2010 Mazda and stole a Capital One credit card.

Aug. 28. 500 block W. Willow Grove Avenue. Complainant states that between 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m., an unknown person broke the passenger side window of a 2008 Mercury Mariner and stole a brown wallet, Target credit card, driver's license, school identification and money.

Aug. 31. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states that a white female, 26 to 30 years old, 5'5” tall, thin, wearing a yellow polo shirt, walked into store and took two hairbrushes and one cigarette lighter. When female was approached, she caused a minor disturbance inside store. Occurred at 12 a.m.

Summary – Six crimes for week: two thefts, two retail thefts, and two thefts from vehicles.
