Next up for Chestnut Hill Film Group's 'Tuesday Nights at the Movies' is the 1971 film “The Burglars.”
In Athens, professional thieves rob a suitcase of emeralds from a wealthy citizen. When the corrupt police chief finds out they are responsible for the crime, he pursues them in hopes that he can retrieve the gems for himself.
Based on the 1957 novel by David Goodis, the film is directed by Henri Verneuil and stars Jean-Paul Belmondo, Omar Sharif and Dyan Cannon. It will screen in French with English subtitles.
The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Woodmere Art Museum. Doors open at 6:30. Admission is free, although donations are recommended.
