Next up for Chestnut Hill Film Group's ongoing series “Tuesday Nights at the Movies” is the 1962 Italian comedy “Il Sorpasso.”
On a holiday weekend in Rome, two polar opposites – a shy law student and an arrogant extrovert – cross paths accidentally and take a joy ride through the Tuscan and Roman countryside. In the two days the odd couple have to get acquainted, they run into hijinx, visit each other's families, and discover themselves in the contrast between their two personalities.
Directed by Dino Risi, the film stars Vittorio Gassman, Jean-Louis Trintignant and Catherine Spaak.
The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Woodmere Art Museum. Doors open at 6:30. Admission is free, although donations are recommended.
