The first annual Erdenheim Howl-o-ween Pet Parade will be held Sunday, October 26, 3 p.m., at Cisco Park, 200 Montgomery Ave. in Erdenheim.
The idea for this free community event started with one of the Erdenheim Community Association junior members, 9-year-old Henry Luce, after he saw so many community dogs at the Springfield Township 5K on Community Day last month.
Since then the group has been hard at work putting together a costume pet parade at Cisco Park. With Halloween right around the corner, they didn’t have a lot of time, an event planning company in our community generously jumped in the co-host and help with the event: Seeding and Sage!
A special shout out to Jack Out of the Box Designs of Flourtown for quickly putting together the flyer and email campaign! Donations of dog/cat food or money for Sam’s Hope will be gratefully accepted. Sam’s Hope is a wonderful Wyndmoor-based organization that tries to finds loving homes for animals in need.
Details: Registration: 2:30 p.m. ; Costume Parade: 3 p.m.; Awards: 3:30 p.m.
There will be prizes, local celebrity judges and more! The event is free, but Erdenheim Community Association does ask that people consider donating to Sam's Hope (pet food or money). All the info is on www.erdenheimcivic.org or their fb page, www.facebook.com/erdenheimcivicassociation
