Noted in the Northwest A brief look at news in Chestnut Hill and surrounding neighborhoods Mt. Airy day will include car show This year’s Mt. Airy Day festival will take place Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Clivden and Upsala, the historic estates located along the 6400 block of Germantown Avenue. Among other attractions, the event will feature a classic car show. “For the last several years, an antique and collector car display has been part and parcel of the Mt. Airy day event,” display organizer Jim Foster of Mt. Airy told the Local this week. Anyone owning an interesting automobile, preferably 25 years or older, should contact Foster at the West Johnson Garage, 86 W. Johnson St., or by calling 215-438-4330 for registration information. The rain date for the festival is Sunday, May 8. Admission is free. For more information on Mt. Airy Day, call West Mt. Airy Neighbors at 215-438-6022. Monkey Business vandalized Monkey Business, the consignment shop benefiting the Auxiliary of Chestnut Hill Hospital profiled in this week’s Local, had some unwelcome visitors earlier this week, according to manager Rose Malley. Malley came to work Tuesday morning to find a yellow substance, probably egg, spattered on the shop’s front windows. Anyone with information about the incident should call the 14th Precinct at 215-686-3140. |
