CHYSC major league baseball division heating up

With only 4 games remaining before the playoffs, the major league division seedings of the Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club are up for grabs. The Braves, Cards and Cubs are atop the standings with 7 wins each, but the Braves have a make-up game in a hand that won't be played until next Sunday against the Dodgers. The Phillies are only a game back while the Mets and Pirates are bunched up in the middle with 6 wins each. The Dodgers have cooled off but they're known for using the season to hone their game for the playoffs. Meanwhile the Giants, with their injury-depleted roster, are playing inspired baseball and expect to find their groove in time for the post season.

Water Tower will host at least one major division game every day through the end of the regular season, June 12. Weeknight games start at 6 p.m. and Saturday games start at 11 a.m. with the last starting at 5 p.m. This Sunday the make-up game between the first place Braves and the Dodgers will be played at 1 p.m.

Baseballs are flying over the Water Tower fence this year at a rate that rivals the homer happy pace at the new Citizens Bank Ball Park. There have been 10 balls hit over the fence so far this year. The big hitters so far: Dylan Tracy (3), Jordan Dean (2), Ben Rogers (2),Tim Boyd, Matthew Primavera and Evan Miller.
