Berger-Ginsburg wedding
Jane Anne Berger and Lev Adam Ginsburg were married at Temple Beth Rishon in Wyckoff, N.J., on Sunday, May 23. They honeymooned in Quebec.
Matrons of honor were Emily Fischel and Jennifer Mirmelstein. Bridesmaids were Shira Ginsburg, Dana Blumberg, Stacy Coplan, Hila Reichman, Allison Bressler, Rachel Goldman and Rachel Abramson.
Best men were David Rittberg and Adam Feuerstein. Groomsmen were Sam Wolf, Michael Wolf, Ari Zolin, Matthew Fischel, Frank Tamarkin, Peter Grollman, Joshua Grossman and Ami Abramson, who also served as officiant.
Jane is the daughter of Nancy Berger-Henderson, of Germantown, and William Berger, of Allentown. She is the granddaughter of Dick and Pat Guggenheim, and the late Hortense Guggenheim, of Elkins Park, and the late Leona A. and S. Stephen Berger, of Pittsburgh.
Lev is the son of Howard Ginsburg, of Troy, N.Y. and Joanne Sininsky of Suffern, N.Y. He is the grandson of Judith and Marvin Ginsburg of Coconut Creek, Fla.
Jane, a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and a graduate of the Temple University School of Law, is the director of the Young Leadership Division & Community Campaign for the UJA Federation of Bergen County & North Hudson.
Lev, a graduate of the University of Buffalo and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, works as an attorney in the telecommunications industry.
The couple lives in Englewood, N.J.
Five Germantown Friends School students have distinguished themselves in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC). Neil Dowgun of Conshohocken received the highest score in the school on the AMC 12 exam, open to students in grades 11 and 12. His score was ranked as being in the top 1% in the country. Chaz Kelsh of Chestnut Hill earned the distinction of having the highest score in the school on the AMC 10 exam, open to grades 9 and 10. Three other students' outstanding scores qualified them to take the American Invitational Math Exam: Jennifer Carter of Queen Village, Christopher Chung of Huntingdon Valley and Gregory Lane of Chestnut Hill.
J. Franklin Egan Jr., of Chestnut Hill, graduated magna cum laude with distinction in research from Cornell University. Franklin was a Cornell Presidential Research Scholar and will be spending time in Venezuela on a Cornell project. He will then attend graduate school. Franklin is a graduate of Our Mother of Consolation and LaSalle College High School.
Jessica Hershberg, of Mount Airy, a senior at Germantown Friends School, has been awarded an honorable mention in the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts' 2004 Arts Recognition and Talent Search (ARTS) program for music/voice/soprano. Hershberg was selected from among 6,506 ARTS applicants nationwide.
Katherine C. Boothby, of Chestnut Hill, graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn, with a B.A. in political science, and Farley W. Whetzel, also of Chestnut Hill, graduated with a B.S. in psychology.
John A. Viehman, of Mt. Airy, has graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. in political science.
Susa Montgomery, of Wyndmoor, a Penn Charter graduate, has graduated from Randolph-Macon College. She majored in sociology and took a minor in English literature.
Joshua Paul Frank, of Chestnut Hill, graduated summa cum laude from Dickinson College with a B.A. in English. Josh, who is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a graduate of Germantown Academy, was an intern at the Chestnut Hill Local. Also graduating from Dickinson was Peter Morris Landreth Jr., of Wyndmoor, a graduate of Chestnut Hill Academy, who received a B.A. in economics.
The College of Physicians at Temple University has awarded Ellen Tedaldi, M.D., F.A.C.P., the 2004 College of Physicians of Philadelphia's Exemplar of Humanism in Medicine award. Tedaldi, of Mt. Airy, is professor of medicine and director of Temple's Comprehensive HIV Program.
Receiving degrees from Boston University this spring were Mt. Airyites Joseph L. Bernstein, B.A. in political science, and Donald F. Ford, B.S. in journalism.

Mount Saint Joseph Academy graduated 138 young women on June 5, among whom: 123 were offered 378 scholarships, 56 were invited to participate in 98 honors programs, and 25 were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program — only 12 schools in the entire state of Pennsylvania had a greater number of National Merit Finalists than the Mount, regardless of class size.
