Crime Report • Chestnut Hill

The following crimes are from the week of June 12 to June 18, 2005.

June 7. 7700 block Stenton Ave. Between 3 p.m. on May 28 and 11 p.m. on June 5, an unknown person stole a white 1995 Chevy Caprice, Delaware tag 593562.

June 12. 7600 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states that neighbor saw two black males pull up in an older dark Oldsmobile Cutlass and park in front of location. Complainant states that passenger got out and walked to front yard and stole a Weber charcoal grill. First male, 20s, 5’8” tall, dark complexion with braided hair. Second male, driver of vehicle, heavy-set, beard, not wearing a shirt. Occurred at 4:40 p.m.

June 14. 200 block E. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states that an unknown person knocked on front door and then walked around back and knocked on rear door. Complainant observed rear door had been forced open but nothing had been taken. Complainant observed a silver vehicle leaving location at a high rate of speed. Occurred at 9:15 a.m.

June 16. 7600 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states that she left her 2001 Nissan and when she returned she noticed the driver’s side window was broken and taken was an air bag, one dress, shirts and one suit. Reported at 6 p.m.

June 17. 300 block W. Willow Grove Ave. Complainant states she parked her purple 1997 Honda Accord SE, Pennsylvania tag DT27692 at St. Martin’s train station and when she returned at 4:50 p.m. her vehicle was gone.

Summary — Five crimes for week: one burglary, two stolen vehicles, one theft from vehicle and one attempted burglary.
