dignDAY OF DIGNITY
Norwood-Fontbonne Academy students recently celebrated Human Dignity Day, a day when the school’s community takes time to reflect on the goodness of all people. NFA students came together with student and teacher representatives from schools that they visit during the year while completing their service learning experiences. For the past five years, NFA has connected with Holy Name School in Camden, St. Hugh of Cluny School in Kensington and the Archbishop Ryan School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children in Norwood, Pa. NFA students have two opportunities each school year to visit these sites, as well as The Artman Home, St. John’s Hospice, St. Joseph Villa and Our Lady of Confidence School. While there, they tutor children, visit with the elderly, serve lunch to the homeless, interact with Spanish-speaking students, or spend special time with hearing impaired children or those with special needs.
