Crime Report • Chestnut Hill

The following crimes are from the week of June 19 to June 25, 2005.

June 19. Unit block of Chestnut Hill Ave. Complainant states that between 4 p.m. on June 18 and 9:30 a.m. on June 19, an unknown person stole two antique urns.

June 19. 8100 block Ardleigh Street. Complainant states he was walking along when a black man punched him in the face and stole his cell phone. Male, 6 ‘3” tall, wearing a white shirt. Occurred at 9:30 p.m.

June 20. 100 block W. Willow Grove Ave. Complainant states he observed defendant inside of yard where he was working. Complainant states that defendant had his hand on copper downspout and dropped it when he saw complainant. Complainant called 911 and flash was put over police radio and defendant was stopped for investigation.

June 20. 8000 St. Martin’s Lane. Complainant states that he observed nine copper downspouts missing from church. He observed a male running from property; male escaped in an unknown direction. Occurred at 6:45 p.m.

June 20. Unit block W. Bells Mill Road. Complainant states she left known person inside her home to take care of her pet while she was away on vacation. When she returned she found house trashed and beer kegs all over the place and furniture in disarray. Missing was jewelry, clothing, shoes and two laptop computers.

June 21. 8700 block Germantown Ave. Complainants state that they observed offender take money from table for food bill, which was left by prior customers. Black male with scruffy hair wearing khaki pants, green baseball cap and carrying a tote bag. Male fled southbound on Germantown Ave. Occurred at 9 p .m.

June 21. 100 block W. Hartwell Lane. Complainant states that he was at Pastorius Park when two known offenders with guns came up from behind him and went through his pockets and stole his wallet containing money, travelers checks, keys and a cell phone. Complainant said he would not give any other information. Occurred at 11:30.

June 21. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states an unknown person took money from her jacket pocket. Occurred on June 19 at 10 a.m.

June 22. 200 block E. Willow Grove Ave. Complainant states that she was walking to her apartment when two black males took her purse and pushed her to the ground. Offenders fled west on Willow Grove Ave. First male, 5’11” tall, 170 lbs., wearing a black hoody; second male 6’tall, 180 lbs., black hat with red lid. Occurred at 11 p.m.

Summary — Nine crimes for week: three robberies, one burglary, two residential thefts and three other thefts.
