Obituaries Hall memorial service A memorial celebration for Roger Hall, who died on June 6, will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church, 2nd & Market streets, Center City. Charlotte M. Matarazzo Charlotte Madeira Matarazzo, of Chestnut Hill, died of cancer on June 17. Known by those close to her as "Choshie," she had been employed by Schlesinger Associates, a market research firm and, earlier in her career, by fashion retailer Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. Born in Chestnut Hill on March 10, 1944, she was graduated from Springside School and Garland Junior College. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Welsh Madeira and Charlotte Pepper Madeira, both longtime residents of Chestnut Hill. Charlotte is survived by her son, Nicholas Pepper Matarazzo; her three brothers: Samuel W. Madeira Jr., Wharton Madeira and Andrew Madeira; six nephews; and a niece. A private memorial service is being planned. Nancy S. Scott Nancy Shedd Scott, 50, (formerly of Little Deer Isle, Maine; Auburn, Maine; Westbrook, Conn.; and Englewood, N.J.) died on June 16. Born in Lewiston, Maine, on October 13, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Mark Redans Shedd and Mary Marsden Shedd. Mrs. Scott was a graduate of Overbrook High School. She was a commercial and fine artist, as well as a musician. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Germantown and a volunteer at Allen’s Lane Art Center Vision Through Art Program (for the visually impaired). Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Russell Herbert Scott Jr.; her sons Paul Tracy Scott, Russell Herbert Scott and Julian Shedd Scott. She was the sister of Lynne Shedd Simonds, Mark Daniel Shedd, Dale Shedd Whitesell, Kim Bailey Shedd and Andrew Christopher Shedd. She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Shirley Greene Shedd MacLeod. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Germantown, 6027 Germantown Ave. Constance D. Anderson Constance Dick Anderson, of Penllyn, formerly of Chestnut Hill, died on June 6. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughters Elizabeth A. “Lisa” Breish (Russell) and Christine Anderson Dacko (Mark), and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2 p.m. at the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, 8000 St. Martin’s Lane, Chestnut Hill. Interment will be private. McAllister (nee Ackerman), 72, of Andorra, died on June 26 of complications of a stroke. She was born in Drexel Hill and raised her seven children in Whitemarsh Township. Mrs. McAllister attended Drexel University and later worked at TV Guide in Radnor before her marriage. She enjoyed vacations at the shore, walks in the Wissahickon, bowling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children Jacquelyn, Kevin, Brian, Dana Matkovic, Karen, Sean and Michael; nine grandchildren; and her sister, Bettie. Mrs. McAllister was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Dorothea; and her brother, Robert. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at Lownes Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, followed immediately by funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Rockville, MD 20852. Irene S. O’Hara Irene S. O’Hara (nee Skalski), of Chestnut Hill, died on June 24. She was the wife of the late James J. O’Hara Jr. Mrs. O’Hara is survived by her daughters Irene Rodgers (Arthur), Mary O’Hara Gregory and Pat O’Hara; two grandchildren; and a niece. Relatives and friends may call at Our Mother of Consolation Church, 9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave., on Wednesday, June 29 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1 Reed Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Robert H. Adatte Robert H. Adatte, 79, of East Mt. Airy, died on June 23 of chronic leukemia and complications of Alzheimer’s. Born in Plainfield, N.J., he graduated from high school in Boundbrook, N.J. in 1943. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served aboard submarines USS Apogon, USS Steelhead and USS Dragonet as a quartermaster-signal specialist. Mr. Adatte graduated from the University of California/Berkley in 1953 with a degree in economics. He married his second wife, Kenna, in 1966, and for 20 years they owned and operated women’s shoe and apparel boutiques in Chestnut Hill and State College, Pa. In the 1970s, Mr. Adatte was very active with the Chestnut Hill Business Association; he served as head of the advertising committee for many years. Following the closing of their stores in 1986, Mr. Adatte pursued his love of woodworking and cabinetmaking, doing projects for many clients and friends. Mr. Adatte is survived by his wife, Kenna, and his daughter Barbara, of Reston, Va. His son, Guy, predeceased him in 1975.
