Mount romps past shortstaffed Wolverines by TOM UTESCHER Kennedy Kenrick High School took an early lead over the Mount St. Joseph Magic in a summer league basketball bout last Wednesday evening, but the Wolverines had no reserve players on the bench and eventually ran out of steam in a 64-29 loss to MSJ. Alexa Buchanan (13 points), Aubrey Barrett (11), Sarah McGorry (ten) and Paige Kenney (eight) topped a list of 11 scorers for the Mount. Ingram’s Blue Jays are a team of 15 five and six year olds in Mt. Airy Baseball’s T-Ball League. That first and only Phillies World Series win, and the excruciating season leading up to it, are captured on a commemorative three-DVD set recently released by the Phillies. It’s a bargain at $24.99. Would also be a bargain at $25, or twice that. The three DVD’s include two excellent retrospectives on the team and the season, a 30-minute piece called “The Team that Wouldn’t Die” and an hour-long retrospective, “Glory Days.” Phillies Reader Updated |
