Obituaries

Anthony J. Maletta

Anthony J. (Tony) Maletta, 55, of Chestnut Hill, an integral part of the life at the Water Tower for more than 30 years, died on July 18.

He was the husband of Linda L. Maletta (nee Wolf); son of Ivo and Amelia; father of Gina Maletta-Sannicandro (Brian), Liza and Kara; and grandfather of Anthony and Angelina Sannicandro. He was also the brother of Jenny Perre, Frank and Louis.

Relatives and friends may call at Our Mother of Consolation Church, 9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave., on Sunday, July 24 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. and Monday, July 25 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital, 34th and Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Philip B. Crow

Philip Brumbaugh Crow, 84, of Chestnut Hill, died of natural causes with his family in Pittsburgh.

Born in Uniontown, Pa., Mr. Crow was the fourth child of Frank Raymond Crow and Florence Brumbaugh Crow. After serving in the Army Air Corps in the Second World War, he and his first wife, Elizabeth Chalfant Crow, returned to Pittsburgh where he attended the University of Pittsburgh on the GI Bill.

An executive with the Joseph Horne Company in Pittsburgh, the May Company in Jacksonville, Fla., and Gimbels in New York, Mr. Crow retired to Chestnut Hill with his second wife, the late Ellen Ludwig Fisher Crow. There he worked with Grove Storage and supervised the St. Vincent’s food cupboard program for St. Martin-in-the-Fields, where he was an active parishioner.

Mr. Crow is survived by his five children, Abigail Rich, Lydia Potter and Alexander Crow of Los Angeles, Philip Crow Jr. and Michael Crow of Pittsburgh; their spouses; and his nine grandchildren. He is also survived by Ellen’s children and granddaughter, Ellen DePasquale, of Cleveland, Ohio; his niece, Linda Crow, of Wilmington, Del.; and nephew, Harte Crow and family, of Etna, Vt.

A memorial service and interment will be held on Saturday, August 13 at 1 p.m. at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in Chestnut Hill.

Memorial donations may be sent to the All Saint’s Fund at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, 8000 St. Martin’s Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19118, earmarked for the food program.

Robert Heberton

Robert M. Heberton, of Chestnut Hill and Coreys, N.Y., died on July 16.

He was the husband of the late Kathryn (Perris) Heberton, father of the late Thomas Heberton and brother of the late Ann Hammett.

Mr. Heberton is survived by daughters Cynthia and Laura, and sons Robert and Richard.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery office at 10:15 a.m.
