Obituaries

Robert S. Dome

Robert S. Dome, formerly of Chestnut Hill, died on July 10.

He was the husband of the late Marion D. and Helen C., and father of Janice A. Dome, Lawrence E. Dome, Becky Rich, Perry Ritter and Nancy Ritter. He is also survived by six grandchildren and his sister, Lucy J. Dome.

Mr. Dome was a member of the Poor Richard Club, Broadcast Pioneers, the Philadelphia Sailing Club and the Procrastinators Club. He also ran his own company, Dome and Associates, for over 30 years.

A memorial service was held on July 14 at Gwynedd Meeting.

Robert Heberton

Robert Miller Heberton Jr. died on July 16. He lived in Chestnut Hill and Corey’s, New York.

Married to the late Kathryn Perris Heberton for 46 years, he was the father of Cynthia, Robert, Richard, Laura and the late Thomas. He was the brother of Frances Sutro Hannafin of Chestnut Hill and the late Ann Hammett. He had seven grandchildren: Alyssa, Renata and Brendan Heberton, all of Denver, Colo.; Jenny and Eric Heberton, of Darien, Conn.; and Olivia and Thomas Creamer, of London, England. He was the uncle of Charles McManus, Nan Hammett and Mark Hannafin.

He graduated from Germantown Friends School in 1947, where he was president of his graduating class and captain of the football team. He was an executive in the paper business, employed by the Ketterlinus Co. and then for several decades by the Weyerhauser Company until his retirement.

H. Foster Walton III

H. Foster Walton III, 79, of Portland, Pa., died on July 12 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Mr. Walton was born in Chestnut Hill on August 29, 1925; he was the son of the late Henry F and Josephine P (Reeves) Walton. He and his wife, the former Jessie Delp, were married on October 18, 1975.

Mr. Walton, who served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded a purple heart, was employed as a manufacturing representative for various companies during his career.

A member and former deacon of the Community Presbyterian Church in Portland, Pa., he was an avid golfer and member of the American Legion Post 216 in Johnsonville, Pa. and the VFW in Chestnut Hill.

A Memorial Service was held at the Community Presbyterian Church, Portland, on July 19. Interment was at Riverview Cemetery, Portland.
