Collaborative clean-up effort a success
Richard Maloumian, chair of CHCA Aesthetics Committee, and, Jack Connor, head of public works in Springfield Township, collaborated on a streets and green areas clean-up at the gateway entrance area to Chestnut Hill at Bethlehem Pike and Stenton Avenue last month.

Fairview Nursing Home saw the work and report that they too are keeping their green spots free of litter.

Upcoming events announced
CHCA board secretary Jane Piotrowski has announced dates for upcoming events on the association’s calendar. There will be a planning meeting for Fall for the Arts on Tuesday, Aug. 9. The Black and White Gala will be held Sept. 24, the annual Ghost Walk will take place at the Library on Oct. 29 and A Taste of Chestnut Hill will be held on Nov. 13 at Springside School.

For more information, call the CHCA office at 215-248-8810.

Institutional change required
CHCA executive committee member Stewart Graham announced at last week’s board meeting that because Chestnut Hill HealthCare, formerly Chestnut Hill Hospital, is now a for-profit institution, it no longer meets the bylaws requirements for an institutional member of the board of directors. A motion was made and approved to have Chestnut Hill Academy become an institutional member, replacing CHHC.

CHCA bylaws allow the board to appoint up to six institutional directors. An institutional director must be an officer or director of the representative local nonprofit institution.
