Crime Report • Chestnut Hill

The following crimes are from the week of July 24-30, 2005.

July 24. 100 block E. Hartwell Lane. Complainant states that an unknown person stole a Pennsylvania tag FTC1302 from her vehicle. Reported at 6 p.m. on July 23.

July 24. Unit block E. Bethlehem Pike. Employee opened station and found window to garage door broken and metal panel removed from office door. Money and keys were stolen.

July 25. 8800 block Germantown Ave. An unknown person stole a wallet from under pillow. Complainant was in Room 568 and then moved to Room 360 when he noticed wallet missing. Reported at 3:40 p.m.

July 26. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states that two black males came into store and took several DVDs and fled scene in a black Pontiac, Pennsylvania tag GCV 1953. Car was stopped by police car 247 at Bryan and Mt. Pleasant Ave. Males were positively identified by complainant and suspects were arrested.

July 27. 100 block Rex Ave. Complainant states that between 9 and 10:30 a.m., an unknown person stole two bikes from front porch. Taken were one 19” Giant bike and one 19” light blue and black Birt bike.

July 27. 7700 block Germantown Ave. Pharmacist states that a male brandished a semi-automatic handgun and said, “I want OxyContin and also codeine.” Complainant placed items in bag that offender had and male fled out of rear door. Taken were several bottles of OxyContin and 10 to 11 bottles of codeine. Offender is a black male, 6’4” tall, medium skin tone, wearing a sweatshirt and black pants. Reported at 9:55 p.m.

July 28. 7700 block Stenton Ave. Between 12 and 9 a.m., an unknown person stole a silver 2001 Lexus GS300 from parking lot.

July 28. Unit block E. Highland Ave. Complainant states that an unknown person stole sticker form license plate of a green 1999 GMC truck.

July 30. 8800 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that offender entered hospital room and emptied trash into a bag. After he left she noticed her purse was missing. Offender was not wearing hospital uniform. Occurred at 6:15 p.m.
