Crime Report • Chestnut Hill
The following crimes are from the week of July 31 to August 6.
July 31. 7700 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states that an unknown person stole a gold 1996 Nissan Maxima, Pennsylvania tag ECJ7620. Reported at 6 p.m.
July 31. Valley Green & Wolcott Drive. Complainant states she left her car unlocked and went for a walk. When she returned she found her wallet missing from her purse.
July 31. Winston Road & Mermaid Lane. At approximately 5 p.m., a male was driving and saw three to four black males beating up a man in his early 40s. Driver stopped his car and ran toward victim; offenders fled scene. Victim was bloody and the driver asked if he should call the police. Victim said no, picked up his belongings, went home and called police from home. Incident was reported at 5:30 p.m.
August 2. 8200 block Crittenden Street. An unknown person entered an unlocked 2004 GMC Yukon and stole a Canon digital video camera, Nikon digital camera, 30 CDs and a pair of Oakley sunglasses. Reported at 9:30 p.m.
August 2. 8200 block Ardleigh Street. Complainant states he was walking when seven black males, ages 16 to 20, circled him and began hitting him in the face and body with closed fists. Taken was a cellular phone. Complainant said he could not go to NWD and refused medical treatment. Occurred at 11 p.m.
August 2. 100 W. Bells Mill Road. Between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. an unknown person broke the driver’s side window of a silver Xterra and stole a purse.
August 3. Willow Grove & Germantown avenues. Complainant states that she and male got into an argument and she told him she wanted to get out of the car. He tried to push her out of vehicle and struck her on side of neck with a bottle. Complainant sustained injuries to side of neck and a finger. Black male, Ryan Seals, 21-25 years old, 230 lbs., dark complexion, full beard, wearing a tan shirt and blue pants. Male is driving a white vehicle and is also the father of complainant’s child. He is known to be abusive. Occurred at 2:20 p.m.
August 4. 8700 Prospect Ave. Complainant states that an unknown person gained entry to his home and stole money, driver’s license, two DVDs, cellular phone and bankcard.
August 5. Unit block E. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states that he was walking to video store on Germantown Avenue when six black males, 16 – 20 years old, jumped, punched and kicked him and stated, “give me your wallet.” Offenders took wallet containing money and IDs and fled westbound on W. Mermaid Lane. Males wearing white t-shirts with the exception of one male, wearing a black t-shirt. Occurred at 9:42 p.m.
August 5. 7700 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states he was walking when five black males approached him and demanded money and punched him in the face. He fell to the ground and they began to kick him on both sides of his body. Complainant suffered bruises to his face and body. Taken were a cellular phone, wallet, various IDs and credit cards. Males, 5’6” to 5’9” tall, medium build, dark complexion and all wearing dark clothing. Occurred at 11 p.m.
August 6. Unit block E. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states he parked his truck at approximately 5 p.m. and when he returned, he noticed his Pennsylvania tag, YNV3926, was stolen.
August 6. Germantown & Evergreen avenues. Complainant states that he parked his 2004 Honda CP and an unknown person gained entry through a possibly unlocked door and stole one iPod and one iPod player. Occurred at 10 a.m.
August 6. 9500 block Wheel Pump Lane. Complainant states he left on vacation and had a general contractor and roofers work on residence while he was away. Complainant states that when he returned, rear kitchen door had been forced open and a beaded necklace was missing. Workers were there Thursday, but not Friday.
