CHA, Rosenaus settle 21-month legal battle

More than a year after his graduation, the school
will award Andrew Rosenau his diploma

Chestnut Hill Academy's case with former student Andrew Rosenau, whom the school sought to dismiss in 2002, quietly came to an end Monday morning in City Hall Court Room 443.

After two hours of settlement negotiations, Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Gene D. Cohen announced, "both parties have come to an agreement." Though the financial terms of the settlement were kept confidential, Cohen said Andrew Rosenau would be awarded the diploma he was denied when he graduated from Chestnut Hill Academy in 2003. Mt. Airy triathlete beats cancer, wins Ironman Hawaii slot

Michele Pollio, 40, qualified for the event's world championship without ever running a marathon

Five days after securing a slot in the Ironman triathlon world championship, Michele Pollio glows with accomplishment, still wearing her I.D. bracelet from the Lake Placid, N.Y. event where she qualified on July 25.

"This was something I never thought I could do," Pollio, 40, of Mt. Airy, said of her first Ironman, a triathlon competition acknowledged by many as the most grueling and unforgiving event in the world of sports.

During this time of year many of your neighbors have left Philadelphia and gone on vacation. Some of them do their best to bring along their extended family of pets, but many cannot, or for some reason choose not to. So what do these families do, and where do these animals go, when they unwillingly part ways with their loved ones? To shed some light in this matter, I delved into the world of pet care.

Looking after pets has become a lucrative business, and there has emerged a lively market of professionals doing this for a living. There are also others doing it for several other reasons, such as an exceptional passion for animals and/or spare time during the summer months.
