Street touts record,
blasts Katz tax plan

In stark contrast to the cold reception Republican mayoral candidate Sam Katz received at a Germantown forum last week, Mayor Street was greeted with a standing ovation at the Venetian Club Sunday night during a Chestnut Hill Community Association-sponsored event. (Part of a bi-partisan effort, Katz will speak on Monday, October 27 from 8 to 9 p.m.)

Villa strokes beat Mount in hockey final

Each time Mount St. Joseph Academy played Villa Maria in field hockey this fall, the scores got closer. In the first regular-season meeting it was 4-0, in the second it was 1-0, and when the Magic and the Hurricanes met last Thursday, the game stretched through two overtime periods with a 1-1 score and was ultimately decided by penalty strokes. Bridget Yanni does ‘body work’ that reaches deep into the soul

With all that Bridget Yanni has been through in life, it’s quite an accomplishment that she is able to lead a normal, fulfilling life today, much less be a role model who is contributing so much to this community. Bridget, 37, raven-haired and powerfully built, grew up in Mt. Airy and attended Holy Cross Elementary School (her mom worked in the Holy Cross rectory and still does). Today she is the founder of The Amma Center for Bodywork and Massage in Glenside, but the road there was filled with speed...
