RESTAURATEUR POSES TO BE HONORED. Steve Poses, of Chestnut Hill, is being honored at a special event, “Vendors, Vintners & Victualers,” for his role thirty years ago in “stirring Philadelphia from its culinary lethargy” when he opened his restaurant, Frog. This commemorative event, to be held on Thursday, October 30 at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 North Broad St., is being sponsored by the Philadelphia Jewish Archives in celebration of the history of Jewish contributions to our region’s commercial history of food, drink and hospitality. Proceeds of the event will benefit the work of the Philadelphia Jewish Archives Center in collecting and preserving the records of the Jewish community of Greater Philadelphia, providing access to those records to scholars and the general public, and promoting interest in the Jewish past of our region. Poses is shown here with members of the gala planning committee, left to right, Jill Kleeman, Bernice Hamel, Poses, Susan Popkin and David Beck. Information: 215-925-8090 ext. 242.
