Each time Mount St.
Joseph Academy played Villa Maria in field hockey this fall, the scores
got closer. In the first regular-season meeting it was 4-0, in the second
it was 1-0, and when the Magic and the Hurricanes met last Thursday,

Last season when Chestnut Hill Academy and Bristol High School hooked
up in a key Independence League game, the Blue Devils were without the
services of both Phillip Roberts and Nasir Yard. The result was that
the Bristol Warriors ran through the CHA defense on their way to a 25-14

Although the host Patriots of
Germantown Academy spent much of the opening period in the offensive
half of the field in last Wednesday's non-league hockey tilt, the
visiting Germantown Friends School Tigers only trailed 1-0 at the
intermission.

The second division U-11 boys notched a solid 5-0 win over the
Upper Moreland Strikers. Goals came from Brian Sachs, Jim Hall
(2), Alex deBerardinis, and Evan Hall as the offense dominated
the game. Blue Lightning speedsters Cole McCourt and Ty Martin
pressured the Strikers all game, pushing the ball up the wings.
