Weichert, Realtors has donated $25,000 to the American Cancer Society. The donation, made from contributions received at Weichert's recently held charity golf outing, will benefit breast cancer research.
Patricia Van Allen Voigt has joined Schultz & Williams, Inc., a full-service development, marketing and management-consulting firm serving the needs of nonprofit organizations, as a senior associate. Prior to joining Schultz & Williams, Voigt served Springside School, first as director of admissions, next as director of development, and for the last 14 years, as director of external affairs, overseeing admissions, development, major gifts, planned gifts, alumnae, special events and public relations.
Sandy Reilly, of West Mt. Airy, participated in the Pennsylvania Breast Coalition Scientific Training Seminar in Harrisburg on October 5. The seminar, offered each year during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, trains advocates as leaders to be able to speak knowledgeably across the Commonwealth in the language of advocacy, basic research and clinical trials.
Kathleen Duffy, SSJ, Ph.D., has been elected as the new president of the Metanexus Institute. Duffy, who is a professor of physics at Chestnut Hill College, has worked closely with Metanexus since its creation, serving most recently as treasurer. The Metanexus Institute is a membership organization that advances research, education and outreach on the constructive engagement of science and religion. It seeks to create an enduring intellectual and social movement by collaborating with people and communities from diverse religious traditions and scientific disciplines.
Alexander Feldman has been appointed coordinator of the Bureau of International Information Programs for the U.S. Department of State, the rank equivalent of a U.S. Assistant Secretary of State. Feldman, who received his B.A. in international business relations from the University of Pennsylvania, is a graduate of Chestnut Hill Academy and is the son of Mickey and Charlotte Feldman of Chestnut Hill.
The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education has received a $20,000 grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to make habitat improvements to a 10-acre portion of its preserved land for the Kentucky Warbler.
The Training Center for Sales and Business Development
was recently awarded the Pinnacle Award, top honors by
The Sandler Sales Institute, for highest volume of business.
The Pinnacle Award was given to only seven sales training
companies out of more than 175 firms worldwide. Award recipients Bob
Waks of Lafayette Hill and Robert Sinton are the co-owners
of The Training Center.
