First home game a win for CHC men

After Chestnut Hill College president Carol Jean Vale, SSJ, tossed up the basketball for a ceremonial opening tip last Tuesday evening, the newly minted Griffins mens’ team took the court for the first home game they’d ever played.

CHC women flay Valley Forge

Before the Chestnut Hill College men’s basketball team played its first-ever home game on December 9, the CHC women did their part to entertain the home crowd, whipping the Lady Patriots of Valley Forge Christian College, 65-32, in the first game of the Tuesday night doubleheader.

Wilmington wrestlers win CHA tournament

With five gold medalists, the host Blue Devils boasted the most individual weight class winners of the seven teams at the Chestnut Hill Academy Wrestling Invitational Tournament last Saturday.

After week one was cancelled due to snow, the Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Cub Friday night basketball league got underway last Friday night with five games. In the best of those games Dan Quick poured in 28 pints as the Knicks rallied to edge the Blazers 48-47. It was all Blazers in the first half as they led 11- 8 after one as Michael Winterstein buried a three and Ryan Duffy added a pair of field goals.
