Summit Presbyterian Church at Greene and Westview Streets in Mt Airy has been serving the community for over 100 years. Our tower is in need of major repairs, and we’re thowing a big party to help raise the funds we need to Save the Tower. All are invited to join in the fun at the “Taste of Italy Dinner and Silent Auction” on Saturday, May 21, 6 to 9:30 p.m., at Summit Presbyterian Church.
Enjoy a sumptuous four-course Italian meal with choices for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Bid on items for every taste and budget, including restaurant and jewelry store gift certificates, a week at a Cape Cod or Vermont getaway, or a long weekend in the Poconos; a hand-crocheted baby blanket and scarf, homemade soups, Phillies tickets, a gourmet meal, Amish quilt, artwork and prints, and much more! We’ll also be raffling gift baskets to add to the festivities.
The proceeds will benefit the restoration of our tower. The tower is not only a landmark for those seeking to worship in a warm and diverse community of faith. It also beckons teens of the neighborhood to a Friday night basketball program and older people to an Elder Diner every Tuesday at noon.
Summit also hosts Mt. Airy Learning Tree classes, the Summit Children’s Program, the P’Nai Or Jewish Renewal Congregation, Germantown Country Dancers, Girl Scouts, the Summit Martial Arts program and many other community groups! We are glad to welcome so many neighbors through our doors, and we hope you will join us on Saturday night, May 21.
Tickets are $25 and seats are limited. Please call Pastor Cheryl Pyrch or Office Manager Angela Burton at 215-438-2825 for more information. You may also send payment to Summit Church, 6757 Greene St., Philadelphia, PA 19119.
