Until owners of Balance Chestnut Hill work out the exact date the fitness center is to relocate to 12. Willow Grove Ave., local artists are taking advantage of the unused space.

Shortly after Elie-Anne Chevrier Lewis and her band of local from-home décor businesses closed the doors to Nomad, which had occupied the space until February 12, Lewis announced the opening of another pop-up shop to be housed at the location.

This time it’ll be Sugar, an art gallery featuring the works of two artists — Timothy Buckwalter, formerly of Fishtown, and Douglas Witmer, of West Philadelphia.

Buckwalter said the gallery will house abstract paintings, drawings, collages and sculptures.

Sugar will have an opening celebration on Saturday, March 3, from 5 to 7 p.m.
