A fire at 500 E Gravers Lane closed the several blocks of Stenton Avenue between Evergreen and Willow Grove avenues this morning as firefighters from Philadelphia, Glenside, Springfield and Whitemarsh battled the blaze. According to Springfield Township Fire Marshall Chuck Baily, the fire was reported at 7:11 a.m. and under control at 8:15 a.m.

Bailey said that five people were in the home at the time but were warned by working smoke detectors. No one was injured. The fire is still under investigation.

Relieved to hear the house had working smoke detectors and that everyone is safe! My sympathies to the family who lost their home.
