\nIt has been a decade since NIM recognized the work of c ongregational youth in creating a better Northwest Philadelphia community at our 13th Annual Assembly. This year\, we again honor those youth (or in dividuals who work with youth) who are making a positive impact in this li ves of others. We may also be visited by honorees from 2002 –\; come find out what they are doing today. The keynote speaker is E.B. Lewis\, th e renowned illustrator whose artwork has inspired children and adults alik e. Lewis\, a graduate of Temple University’\;s Tyler School of Art\, has illustrated over 50 children’\;s books. His Talkin’\; Ab out Bessie\, a book about the first licensed African-American pilot E lizabeth Coleman\, won the Coretta Scott King Award in 2003. NIM has recen tly named two “\;Reading Corners”\; in Mt. Airy and West Philade lphia\, for Lewis\, to encourage reading and improve literacy rates among young children. Tickets are $25.
