 project Grace Before Dying chronicles the prisoner-run hospice program at 
 the Louisiana State Penitentiary\, in Angola\, LA. Waselchuk collaborated 
 with the Angola Prison hospice volunteer quilters to create two traveling 
 exhibits featuring photographs and quilts. Waselchuk’s moving photo essay 
 reveals how extraordinary acts of humanity have helped transform Angola fr
 om one of the most dangerous maximum security prisons in the United States
 \, to one of the least violent.  Coaxing extreme intimacy from a panoramic
  image format\, the photographs chart the development of a culture of cari
 ng and compassion that challenges stereotypes of incarcerated people\, and
  provide an unique perspective on what long-term and life sentences signif
 y for those inside.A hardbound book &#8220\;Grace Before Dying\,&#8221\; p
