Center on the Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave.
The relationship between doctor and patient is complex and fascinating. Some artists portrayed their own relationships with doctors through satire. Others were inspired by the compassionate and life saving care they received. Still others created portraits in response to personal loss and pain. This presentation features paintings of Goya, Kahlo, Bellany, Van Gogh, Munch, and Fildes — and their relationships with their doctors. Presenter Flo Gelo is a Pastoral Psychotherapist at the Samaritan Counseling Center in Chestnut Hill and a museum guide at the Woodmere Art Museum. She is also a documentary filmmaker and an educator in the medical humanities. $5. Pay at the door. To register, call Jackie Yorko (215-247-4654) or e-mail jyorko@chestnuthillpres.org.
