Former Mt. Airy resident, Jim Cohen, will host a CD release party to celebrate the release of his newest, all-jazz album, “Pedal Steel Jazz”. Cohen is widely known to area audiences as co-founder and leader of the Texas swing band, Beats Walkin’. His newest release, on the Acceptable Records label, features several leading Philadelphia jazz artists including Frank Strauss (piano), Chico Huff and Steve Beskrone (bass), and Grant MacAvoy (drums), as well as special guest-appearances by notable jazz guitarist, Jimmy Bruno and 6 top steel guitarists from around the world. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the original band will perform the CD live beginning at 5 p.m. Cash bar and food available. $5 cover.
