Enjoy sketching in a relaxed class. A variety of mediums will be demonstrated such as charcoal, pencil, pastels, pen and ink. Still lifes and photographs will be used for inspiration. The Urban Athletics classes are a 45 minute high-intensity blend of bodyweight exercises, speed and agility training, dumbbell & kettlebell training and more. Each class is lead by an instructor, taking you through your workout step-by-step, just like personal training without the added cost. This way you don’t have to worry about what you’re workout will be each day, nor do you have to question if you’re doing an exercise incorrectly. There is always a coach on staff to lead you through each workout. The cost is $20.

Internationally acclaimed Steinway artist Svetlana Smolina will deliver a guest performance as part of the College’s Steinway Master Artist series on Thursday. Born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, pianist Svetlana Smolina has performed with orchestras and delivered recitals worldwide. Notable solo appearances include Mariinsky Orchestra at New York Philharmonic, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Orchestra National de France, Odessa and Nizhny Novgorod Philharmonic, Toledo Symphony, and many other ensembles.
The Steinway Master Artist Series kicked off in 2012 at Chestnut Hill College with a performance from Steinway performance artist Meral Gϋneyman, state artist of the Republic of Turkey. The College became an “All-Steinway” school in 2011. The concert is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.

The Teen Center located directly across from the Chestnut Hill East Train station is open every Friday night from 7:30 to 10:30 pm for 12-15 year olds. The Teen Center is now open for High School Students on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The Center is staffed by a young adult who has his/her clearances. Special Events include: Games, Movies, Drumming, Nintendo Wii, Live music and Open Mic nights. Some Fridays are just TGIF nights to hang with friends. There is free access to the Teen Center with a $25 yearly membership. All teens are admitted with a $5 guest fee charge.

There will be a portion of time for a free guided tour of the Morris Arboretum on Saturday afternoon, with the emphasis being determined by the various interests of those touring. Each tour is designed specifically to highlight a particular section of the arboretum, however, there is no itinerary. It is recommended that those who are touring for the first time select the general tour of the arboretum to get an over-all idea of what the gardens have to offer.
