      Come to Folk Dance on Fridays and make new friends and get some exercise while learning ethnic folk dances from Israel, Greece, France, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and more. Beautiful music and congenial company. No prior experience and no partner needed. Wear comfortable clothing.
      We dance weekly year-round except for cancellations announced in advance in case of weather, holidays, etc. Instruction is by Bill Wadlinger, with occasional guest teachers–and occasional live music. Tons of free parking behind the church. Come and try it out. Cost is $7. Your first visit is free.

      Main Street in Manayunk
      This unforgettable weekend begins with a huge ice bonfire on Friday night, and as the weekend continues, ice activities are in no shortage. Ice carvers will create ice sculptures all down Main Street.
      These ice carvers are far from amateurs, watch them create impressive ice sculptures that will have you wondering how a solid block of ice turned into such an intricate piece of art. There will be a live musical performance from Fear No Ice who will perform a theatrical ice show for attendees. The event is free. For more information go to www.manayunk.com

      The Teen Center located directly across from the Chestnut Hill East Train station is open every Friday night from 7:30 to 10:30 pm for 12-15 year olds. The Teen Center is now open for High School Students on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The Center is staffed by a young adult who has his/her clearances. Special Events include: Games, Movies, Drumming, Nintendo Wii, Live music and Open Mic nights. Some Fridays are just TGIF nights to hang with friends. There is free access to the Teen Center with a $25 yearly membership. All teens are admitted with a $5 guest fee charge.

Each tour is designed specifically to highlight a particular section of the arboretum, however, there is no itinerary. It is recommended that those who are touring for the first time select the general tour of the arboretum to get an over-all idea of what the gardens have to offer.       Enjoy sketching in a relaxed class. A variety of mediums will be demonstrated such as charcoal, pencil, pastels, pen and ink. Still lifes and photographs will be used for inspiration. All abilities are welcome. Instructor Alex Forbes has been teaching for the Chestnut Hill Center for Enrichment for the past sixteen years.       The Urban Athletics classes are a 45 minute high-intensity blend of bodyweight exercises, speed and agility training, dumbbell & kettlebell training and more. Each class is lead by an instructor, taking you through your workout step-by-step, just like personal training without the added cost. This way you don’t have to worry about what you’re workout will be each day, nor do you have to question if you’re doing an exercise incorrectly. There is always a coach on staff to lead you through each workout. The cost is $20.
