Crime Report
Dec. 8. 8000 Germantown Ave. Complainant states she placed one bag of bills and change in safe. At 4 a.m., manager noticed the bag had been pulled through the trap door and between $25 and $30 was missing. The remainder of money was still in the safe. Complainant states that several employees have keys. She also went on to say that a former employee had a set of keys for approximately three hours. Reported at 5 p.m. Dec. 8. 400 block E. Willow Grove Ave. Complainant states he left the property secure at 1 p.m., and when he returned to his home at 4:30 p.m., he found the front door had been forced open and the frame damaged. Rooms were ransacked and two pearl necklaces and various pieces of jewelry were stolen. Dec. 8. 7800 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states she was entering her apartment complex when a black male approached her and knocked her down and took her black leather handbag. Offender fled through parking lot. Reported at 11 p.m. Dec. 8. 100 block E. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states that the rear passenger side window of a 1997 Mazda was broken and a Sony radio/compact disk player was stolen. Reported at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. 8300 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states he was shopping and he put his wallet inside of bag. He states he left bag for a few moments and when he returned he found two Citigroup Visa cards and one debt card missing from his wallet. Occurred at 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2005. Dec. 9. Germantown and Northwestern Aves. Complainant states that between 3 and 4:30 p.m., he was running in park and when he returned he found an unknown person had broken the driver’s side window and popped open the trunk, taking a duffle bag containing clothes, wallet, Visa cards, driver’s license and money. Summary — Six crimes: one robbery, two burglaries, two thefts from vehicles and one other theft. Tip: Just about all new cars have trunk openers inside the vehicle, and it is suggested that you put items in your trunk before you arrive at your destination to discourage theft.
