Senior Center News
Though the weather outside may be frightful, our classes and activities are delightful. Want to try something new (pinochle, Tai Chi, art, Great Books, French and so much more), but you’re not sure whether it’s for you? Just come by and try out one session with our compliments. Do you have questions about transportation, prescription plans, health and nutrition, housing? We can help, or direct you to someone who can. The hot water pot is always on for your cup of tea, coffee or cocoa, which you can enjoy with a light snack. Spring water is more to your liking? We have that as well. All this and pleasant company and bright, cheery surroundings. Why not mark your calendar to join us next Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 11:30 a.m. when the Senior Center has a date at The Chestnut Hill Historical Society for a tour of their resources and special exhibit with archivist/author Anne Jarvis. We plan to lunch afterwards at nearby restaurants. (Call the Senior Center by Dec. 18 so we can tell the Historical Society you will be there). An even bigger adventure is planned for next spring when Senior Center members and guests travel to Savannah, Georgia and its barrier islands. As always, members of the community are welcome to be part of the fun, leaving the Center on May 14, returning May 19. The all-inclusive cost is $505 for members of the Senior Center or $525 for non-members. Registration and a deposit are due on or before Dec. 22. Call for information or forms (215-248-0180). The Chestnut Hill Community Association created and continues to support the Senior Center for the benefit of senior adults in the greater Chestnut Hill community, regardless of their chronological age or street address. |
