Crime Report The following crimes are from the week of July 16 to July 22, 2006. July 16. 700 block Wolcott Drive. Complainant states that she was parking her vehicle when an unknown black male approached her with a black handgun and stated, “gimme your bag unless you want me to shoot your dog.” He then took a black purse containing money, credit cards and a Siemen cellular phone. Male, 5’10” tall, 15 – 20 years old, afro hair, stocky build, wearing black pants and had a revolver. July 17. 8500 Germantown Ave. An unknown person stole a gold 2003 Dodge Neon, Pennsylvania tag FHT3514. Reported at 4:18 p.m. July 18. 7600 Stenton Ave. Complainant states that between 5 p.m. on July 167 and 1 a.m. on July 18, an unknown person broke the driver’s vent window and attempted to steal vehicle by breaking the steering column. Vehicle had dead battery and was not stolen. July 19. Unit block Rex Ave. Complainant states that he left his 2000 Volkswagen secure at above location at 6 p.m. on July 14 and when he returned he found the rear passenger window broken and an over-the-shoulder bag containing papers stolen. Reported at 6:40 a.m. on July 19. July 19. 200 block W. Evergreen Ave. Complainant states that between 3 p.m. on July 18 and 10 a.m. on July 19, an unknown person broke the left rear vent window and entered a 2002 Dodge Durango. Unknown if anything was stolen at this time. July 19. 300 block Rex Ave. Complainant states that between 10 p.m. on July 18 and 1 a.m. on July 19, an unknown person broke the driver’s side window and stole an Apple iPod. Complainant noticed a juvenile, white male throwing rocks at about 10 p.m. July 19. 200 block W. Highland Ave. Between 1 and 10 a.m., an unknown person broke the left rear window of a 1998 Ford Explorer and stole a Dell laptop computer. July 22. 100 block W. Evergreen Ave. Complainant states that between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on July 21, an unknown person removed several pieces of estate jewelry from a dresser drawer. Taken was one antique light blue Ceylon sapphire ring with platinum and diamonds, one green Tourmaline ring, one Mikimoto 18” strand necklace, one pendant necklace and one pair of diamond stud earrings. Complainant states that she did have a service come in to clean her home and one employee did use the bathroom on the second floor for about 15 minutes. Summary — Eight crimes for week: one robbery, one stolen vehicle, one attempted stolen vehicle, four thefts from vehicles and one residential theft. Town Watch, 215-248-1320.
