‘CRAB BOIL’
IN G’TWN: On Sunday, July 30, Geechee Girl Rice Café,
5946 Germantown Ave., is having a Low Country Crab Boil. This is
the best of traditional Low Country summer fare: hardshell crabs,
shrimp, smoked sausage, corn and potatoes. It’s a meal complete
with hors d’oeuvre, tossed salad, and a peach cobbler dessert.

FREE SUMMER CONCERT: The pealing
of bell music will again ring out as the St. Thomas’ Carillon
at St. Thomas’ Church, Bethlehem Pike and Camp Hill Road,
Fort Washington, continues its annual concert series on Tuesday,
August 1, 7 p.m., rain or shine, with carillonneur, Peter Langberg
of Denmark performing on the 48-bell carillon (seen here in the
belfry). Admission is free. Enjoy a unique evening of music; bring
your picnic, blanket, lawn chair, or listen from your parked car.

‘ZEN’ BAND IN
MT. AIRY: King Platypus (Jim Harris and Jake Michaels) is
Philadelphia’s premier Zen, world-beat, show tune, surf-folk
fusion band. They will perform Saturday, July 29, 6 to 8 p.m., at
the Mt. Airy Train Station, Gowen and Devon Avenues. (They were
originally scheduled to perform last Saturday night, but the concert
was cancelled due to rain.) Bring lawn chairs or blankets/picnics.
