CHA students make Elite One Hockey Squad
Two students at Chestnut Hill Academy, Ben Auerbach and Harmar Rappoport, were chosen to participate in the elite One Hockey AAA summer tournament. The tournament, which pulls in talented youngsters from the U.S., Europe and Canada, will take place in the end of June in Aston, Pa. Auerbach, a fourth grader, and Rappoport, a fifth grader, both play for the Litter Flyers, a highly competitive youth hockey team. Playing for the Little Flyers, according to Ashley Rappoport, Harmar’s mother, served as a good jumping off point for the two. Auerbach and Rappoport will play for the 96’ squad, a classification derived from the players’ year of birth, at the positions of goalie and defenseman, respectively. Rappoport, a former offensive player, was switched to defense to try and capitalize on his larger stature. He will also play for CHA after this year, when he will officially be old enough to wear the Blue Devil jersey. —JK |
