A PARADE HOME A group of students and parents of the Germantown Jewish Centre’s Religious School marched from temporary space lent them by Project Learn School to the Centre (both in Mt. Airy) where their quarters are being renovated following a recent fire. The march was a way to end the religious school’s year on a positive note for its students.

Penn Charter Students Honored by End-of-Year Awards
Penn Charter honored 42 Upper School students on May 23 with end-of-year awards honoring their contributions in areas such as leadership, academics and the school’s service learning program. Mayor Michael Nutter helped celebrate the completion of Phase One of the PennDOT construction project, which opens up Germantown Avenue from Chestnut Hill to Woodbrook Lane at the Trolley Car Diner, with a cake at Saturday’s Move on Down Block Party. The “naked” bears can be seen at some of the sponsors’ locations until mid-June, at which time they go to the architectural firms to be “dressed up.” The bears will reappear on Germantown Avenue fully decorated in early September.
